Training for Almshouse
Today was the training for the almshouse tour. It was nice to meet up with Serena and John as we are long term friends. It is always pleasant to see them again. Laura was the Education Officer and she explained the history of the almshouses; What is it in the almshouse and how they were used as long ago as the 18th century. It was good to understand how people lived and it was like walking into another person's home. I found the training very interesting and instructive. It will certainly be of use in the future for my workshops within the Geffrye Museum.
After the training , Serena, John and I felt hungry; We walked along the road to look for a suitable place to have lunch. We found a nice cafe serving organic food. Over a pleasant freshly prepared meal we chatted. It was good to talk to my friends.
