London is Hot!

Today is the 19th. July 2006. I am here in London and the weather is very hot and dry. The temperature reached 36.3 degrees Celsius and it looks like there is more hot weather to come. I was on a bus earlier and it broke down because of the heat and we were asked to get off. Apparently it is worse on the tube trains as the temperatures there are reaching over 50 degrees ! There are no fans or air-conditioning on London buses or tube trains even thought many of the buses are new.. There is nearly always a problem during the summer here with the heat, why is this the situation in a supposed developing and modern city? Other cities around the world such as Taipei and Taichung, sorted out their infrastructure problems 20 years ago!

I take a bottle of cold water that I kept in the 'fridge with me everywhere I go...I think I will go to Trafalgar Square and bathe under the fountains...I am so hot!
